After much discussion, we decided not to live in our tiny basement during the hell of construction, and so we found ourselves a humble little place to park for four months (or five or six...depending how things go). Luckily, the rent is cheap, and it's right near where Ingrid goes to daycare, so we can walk there. It's near a big mall and restaurants and pretty convenient for both Jay's and my work. It will take us about 15 minutes to get to our renovated house.A few mornings ago, Jay and I were explaining to Ingrid that we were having the house fixed by Humberto, our builder. Now she says, "Berto fix the house." When I told her we'd have a bigger kitchen, she said, "Cool!" Two and a half years olds are funny.
